commissioned by Aldric M.
A bordeaux-red glaive with forest-green striping, drawn across three escalating stages for a D&D / Pathfinder item card. Stage 1 is the base weapon, fully rendered, with the blade already producing enough light to blind on a successful strike. Stage 2 stacks daylight on top, with bloom turned up and engraving glow brought forward along the haft. Stage 3 lifts to dawn, with stronger light rays, particle work, and a hotter core inside the blade itself.
Aldric wanted the same silhouette across all three stages so the card would read at a glance, with only the intensity climbing as the player burned through charges. Solar motifs sit etched along the blade and only fully reveal at stage 3 when the engraving lights up. The stages were built as duplicates of the base render rather than separate paintings, which keeps continuity tight and lets the escalation feel like one weapon waking up.
